Bristol Instruments Introduces the Fastest and Most Cost-Effective OSA for Optical Device Manufacturing

VICTOR, NEW YORK February 4, 2020 – Bristol Instruments, Inc. is excited to announce the addition of a lower-priced optical spectrum analyzer for the most efficient testing of optical transceivers used in WDM applications. The new model 750 quickly measures and reports side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) in less than 0.07 seconds. This unmatched speed results in reduced testing times compared to traditional grating-based OSA systems.

The 750 Optical Spectrum Analyzer uses proven Michelson interferometer-based technology with fast Fourier transform analysis to generate a laser’s spectrum over the entire wavelength range of 1260 to 1680 nm. A spectral resolution as high as 0.15 nm and a wavelength accuracy of ± 0.01 nm provide a detailed analysis of the main peak and side modes of most optical transceivers. A high dynamic range of greater than 40 dB ensures an accurate measurement of SMSR.
